I’ve written for outlets such as MTV News, The Ringer, Consequence of Sound, Alternative Press, Paste Magazine, Flood Magazine, and more. You can follow me on Twitter @grantsharpies, where I always post my work.

About Me

My name is Grant Sharples, I’m a 24-year-old writer from Kansas City, and I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May 2019 in journalism with a minor in sociology. I graduated with my master’s in journalism in December 2020, also from the University of Missouri – Columbia.

I became interested in journalism through my musical background. I’ve been performing and writing music since my adolescence, and wanting to learn more about music as an art form, I became an avid reader of music blogs.

I have contributed to outlets such as Stereogum, The Ringer, SPIN, Consequence of Sound, MTV News, Paste Magazine, Alternative Press, Flood Magazine, and more. I also have my own blog/newsletter called We Have the Facts and We’re Rejecting Your Pitch. I’m currently a games news journalist at Screen Rant. Additionally, I license music with Marmoset Music, and my music has appeared in projects from Athleta and Minneapolis’ Walker Art Center.

Professional background aside, I also love reading, playing video games, running, blogging, and, of course, making music.
